SMASH NIGHTS

This weeks event: Cage Match ($1 minimum Entry)

Two people will volunteer as cage fighters (or be randomly selected if we don’t have 2 volunteers). Two people will be randomly selected to serve as the cage fighters “handlers” and must place their bet on their fighter.

People will then place their bets on who they think will win.

After all bets are in, handlers will select what character their opponent has to play as. The handler whose cage fighter had fewer bets placed on them gets the advantage of second pick (counterpick) and stage selection.

I will seed $20 to the pot. Whoever wins, those who bet on them split the prize pot between them. This incentivizes betting on an underdog.

When & Where?

Every Tuesday 6pm to 10pm

170 Maple Street, Malden MA 02148.

Safety Measures

Everyone is invited, regardless of vaccination status. If you are not fully vaccinated, please tell me to make managing everyone’s safety easier. To be as safe as possible, I’m taking the following precautions:

  1. Temperature checks: I purchased a laser thermometer and will perform temperature checks at the door

  2. Masks will be required for anyone who is not fully vaccinated, and fresh masks will be available to everyone

  3. Crowd control: I will try to keep the number under 8 people per room. If necessary we will dedicate a second room or potentially split the event into two days to spread people out safely

  4. Ventilation: I will place fans blowing outward to ventilate the space, following CDC recommendations on home ventilation

  5. Food hygiene: no communal food or drinks will be allowed, individual serving food and drinks will be available for guests

  6. Vaccination tracking: I am volunteering to offer my vaccination records to everyone in order to make my guests feel safe and comfortable. Absolutely no one is required to share information they do not want to, but I would greatly appreciate anyone who chooses to bring their vaccination card or share a picture of it with me prior. This will not only help everyone feel safe, it will also help me control the number of vulnerable people who share space together.

Parking & Transport

My place is an 8 minute walk west of the Malden Center Orange Line MBTA stop.

If you’re driving, my street only allows parking on the north side, opposite my building. The neighborhood in general allows for parking, with restrictions for non-residents. You’ll want to check the signs where you park. Below is a map of my neighborhood with two roads that often have open parking spots highlighted in yellow.
